Types of IT Services


IT Services is a category of services provided by a company in its endeavor to improve and expand its business. This category can be divided into three broad segments that include Customer-Centric Services, Enterprise Services and Support Services. Business Process Management Services are those that assist in developing and maintaining business processes for an enterprise by providing support for internal business process activities, helping businesses in decision-making processes, and by implementing procedures and techniques for the smooth running of the business. It also provides support for a business' inventory and cash flow management. These services include designing and implementing software systems to improve business processes, maintaining internal systems for financial management and providing advice on how to maximize profitability.

IT Services can be purchased directly from a vendor, or they can be purchased from a third-party provider. There are many vendors who provide IT Services including; Microsoft, IBM, NetCentric, Nortel, Ericsson, Citrix, EMC, Avaya, Nortel, Hughes, and Verizon, Sage, and others.
